Connect Assist announces changes to the leadership team

Over the last decade, Connect Assist has grown from a social business of just 12 employees to a team of 136, all of whom have played an essential part in strengthening our organisation.

As of June 2017, we are pleased to announce some changes to the structure of our senior team.

Our two founders, Patrick Nash and Rusty Livock will be taking a step back from the day-to-day running of the business, and our client services director and head of consultancy, Ron Moody will become CEO.

Ron has worked at Connect Assist for over two years and has more than 11 years of experience in the charity sector, contact centres and fundraising.

Adam Wilkinson, who has been with us since 2009, will become sales director and will work alongside professional services director, Stephen Pickett and operations director, Sharon James. The leadership team will be led by Ron.

Although the day-to-day leadership of the organisation will change, Patrick and Rusty will continue to play a very important role as part-time directors working with existing charity customers as well as training and coaching of staff.

Patrick, who was named Director of the Year for corporate responsibility at this year’s IoD Wales Awards, said: “When we set Connect Assist up 11 years ago, Rusty and I shared a vision of providing high-quality digital and helpline solutions for organisations that support people in challenging circumstances.

“We also wanted to create jobs and opportunities here in the Welsh valleys for as many people as possible to grow and develop in their careers, and to create a culture that enabled people of different backgrounds to return to the workplace.

“Many of the staff here have been able to take advantage of those opportunities. The vast majority of managers began working here in front line jobs, and through their talent and dedication have risen to collectively run the operations of the company today.

“The executive team we now have in place is ready to take the next step and take charge of the growth and development of Connect Assist. We are confident that this deal will ensure the business continues to thrive, and we are looking forward to supporting the management team as they work towards ambitious growth plans.”

Ron Moody said: “I am delighted to be leading Connect Assist through this exciting new period of growth. Patrick and Rusty have been incredibly successful in creating a thriving and inclusive organisation over the last decade, and I am looking forward to working with them to move the company forward in this next stage of its development.

“Providing high quality helpline services while creating meaningful job opportunities for local people has always been, and will continue to be central to our ethos as a business.”
