Connect Assist takes on leading public sector firm in first acquisition

Welsh helpline provider Connect Assist has acquired Connection Point Technology, a cloud-based technology firm which serves local authorities across the UK.

The acquisition is the first in Connect Assist’s history and will combine the technology resources and public sector clients of both firms.

Connection Point Technology was established in 2005 and has a strong reputation as a CRM technology specialist in the local government sector.

Existing clients include Slough Borough Council, Bute Council, City of Edinburgh Council and Leeds City Council.

Connect Assist, based in Nantgarw, provides helplines and CRM technology to charity and public sector organisations across the UK.

All existing employees at Connection Point Technology will join Connect Assist’s wider workforce.

Ron Moody, CEO at Connect Assist, said: “This is great news for the customers of both businesses and importantly will allow us to develop new services and new markets. The staff of Connection Point Technology will join Connect Assist and we expect to create further jobs within our local community as a result of this acquisition.”

Tim Burnett, director and founder of Connection Point Technology, said: “We are proud to be joining Connect Assist, the premier Oracle Service Cloud implementation organisation in the UK. The scale and capability of this combined team will benefit our customers and employees and will allow us to provide greater value to the local government market in the UK.

“Connect Assist’s experience from its own contact centre operations and many implementations in government and commercial sectors is directly relevant to our existing customers and the broader market. On behalf of the Connection Point team I can say that we are delighted to be part of the combined organisation.”
