Patrick Nash announced as Director of the Year for leadership in corporate responsibility

Our chief executive Patrick Nash has been named Director of the Year for leadership in corporate responsibility.

Patrick was honoured by the Institute of Directors for Wales at an event in Cardiff last week.

Fourteen business leaders from across Wales were recognised across a number of different categories in an awards ceremony in Cardiff.

The award for Leadership in Corporate Responsibility recognises business leaders who are able to demonstrate that, through their direct actions and leadership, their business has made a positive impact on the local community, wider society and/or the environment.

Patrick launched Connect Assist 11 years ago with a clear vision to make a positive change to those living in difficult circumstances.

The company achieved this by providing high-quality helpline services, while also creating jobs and growth opportunities for people in the South Wales valleys.

Patrick Nash said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have won this prestigious award, which I accept on behalf of the company.

“We’ve grown from a team of 12 to an ever-expanding team of 136 providing multi-channel and digital services for a range of different charities. It’s been a decade of change, development and achievement for us, but we wouldn’t be where we are today without the support of our dedicated staff and the community in which we work.

“As a social business, Connect Assist exists to make a positive difference to people’s lives, including our service users, staff members and the wider community. In a recent employee survey, over 80 per cent of our workforce said that joining Connect Assist has had a positive impact on their lives.”
