Counselling helpline launched to support members of the drinks industry

Welsh helpline provider Connect Assist has teamed up with charity The Benevolent to launch a helpline for members of the UK drinks industry.

The service, provided from Connect Assist’s base in Nantgarw, allows members of the UK drinks industry facing difficult circumstances to find tailored help.

Manned by professional counsellors, the confidential telephone helpline is available seven days a week from 8.00am to 8.00pm.

The service is for anyone who requires practical, legal or emotional help relating to all types of wellbeing and mental health.

Connect Assist will be able to offer either telephone or face-to-face counselling by professionals.

Ron Moody, CEO of Connect Assist, said: “We know that as awareness of The Benevolent has grown within the trade, demand for its services has increased. Many of the calls to the charity have related to wellbeing and personal crises.

“Our team is highly qualified to support people in all sorts of challenging circumstances, which is why we are perfectly positioned to offer this vital service to members of the UK drinks industry.”

The Benevolent chief executive David Cox called the new service a “game-changer” for the charity.

“We can now offer a greatly enhanced level of professional help that reflects the needs of today’s issues and difficulties faced by all members of our trade – young and old,” he said.

The helpline number is 0800 915 4610.
